It is widely acclaimed as an innovative peacemaking project, a shining representation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a major contributor to the country’s cultural life.

Their creative work towards peace and reconciliation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the Balkans and in other places of pain shows the positive peace-building potential of music, which heals suffering people, directs them to the future and reveals the authenticity of our faith.

The Award Ceremony takes place during a concert given by Pontanima in the Concert Hall of Vukovar on 29 April 2011 at 7 pm.

En esprit de solidarité avec les peuples de la région des Balkans, le Comité directeur de Pax Christi International et le Fonds pour la paix Cardinal Bernardus  Alfrink ont attribué le Prix de la paix 2011 à Pontanima, chœur interreligieux de Sarajevo, Bosnie & Herzégovine.

Largement acclamé comme un projet novateur pour la construction de la paix, ce chœur est un fleuron de la Bosnie-Herzégovine qui apporte une contribution majeure à la vie culturelle du pays.

Son travail créateur pour la paix et la réconciliation en Bosnie-Herzégovine, dans les Balkans et en d’autres milieux déchirés par la souffrance, illustre le potentiel pacificateur et guérisseur de la musique ; il oriente les gens vers l’avenir et révèle l’authenticité de leur foi.

La cérémonie de remise du Prix aura lieu pendant un concert de Pontanima au Concert Hall de Vukovar le  29 avril 2011 à 19 h.
